Brandon Flower’s mother Jean Flowers had endured a two-year battle with brain cancer before passing last Thursday.  

It’s unfortunate, but it does happen, and we move on. That is, a band breakup does happen, and while it might shake us briefly, we have to nobly move forward and hope the artists make feeble attempts to regain their momentum with splinter groups years down the road. With those words, the bad news; the Killers are going to begin a hiatus after a few Australian shows in February.

The Killers released its fourth yearly Christmas single and its accompanying video yesterday.  The track, “Happy Birthday Guadalupe” is a south-of-the-border influenced combination of holiday diddy and happy birthday tune.
