If you ask me, kids are spending too much time holed up in their bedrooms these days. We’d do well to have more places for teens and adults alike to be able to do things they like, socialize, and be productive at the same time. It seems as though Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and I are kindred spirits; he and his brother and tour manager are opening a venue and “cultural space” in their hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Back in April, it was reported that Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) would be returning to his Eau Claire, Wisconsin alma mater of Memorial High for a show featuring the school’s jazz band, which would split time between backing Vernon on Bon Iver tunes and accompanying while he sang various jazz standards.
What was surely a nice moment for the folks in Eau Claire has now turned into a keepsake for all, with the performance being released as a live recording, titled A Decade With Duke.”
