Crossroads Guitar Festival features Allman Brothers, BB King & more

Eric Clapton’s third annual Crossroads Guitar Festival will be held on June 26 in Chicago at Toyota Park.  The old-timer himself will be playing, along with the Allman Brothers Band, John Mayer, Sheryl Crow and BB King.

John Mayer Apologizes For Racial Slur

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any weirder for John Mayer, he bounces right back with a racial slur during an interview with Playboy. He apologized for the offensive remark, but through the apparent media of choice for celebrities one and all — his Twitter.

Arcade Fire and John Mayer have licensed top hit songs to help support Haiti relief efforts.  Both have contributed big songs to upcoming commercials and ads on television.

With John Mayer concert tickets ranging from $35 to $75, not to mention the hefty and annoying “convenience charge,” the 33-year-old poster boy for the modern blues gave back to his fans and performed a free, impromptu concert for University of South Carolina students.

“Battle Studies” Wins On Next Week’s Billboard 200 Chart

John Mayer’s fourth studio album Battle Studies was released last week and with nearly 300,000 projected copy sales by this Sunday, November 22, Battle Studies is headed for the top spot on The Billboard 200 charts.
The heartbreak-infused album centers on all of Mayer’s very public failed relationships and exactly how he feels about his most recent love interest, Jennifer Anniston. He may not have a “Jennifer” titled track, but it is obvious that his unrequited love is a fresh, still open wound on Studies.
