Beyonce’s sister Solange has a lot to live up to if she wants to break free from the shadow of her sister. The 23-year-old singer, who has the vocal ability that just may rival her big sister, has taken the indie path, and has already collaborated with two prominent names in the indie rock scene: The Dirty Projectors and Of Montreal.

Knoxville’s Big Ears Festival has announced the schedule for their weekend of music, which will be held March 26-28.  Headliners include Vampire Weekend, Dirty Projectors, and The National.  Not too shabby for a mid-size fest.

Pitchfork, Time Mag, Rolling Stone and Pop Matters all listed Dirty Projectors’ 2009 album Bitte Orca as a top ten album of 2009.  Three of the five listed it as their #2.  With such sparkling accolades, their latest, a limited edition on vinyl, is sure to please.
