Are you a free magazine?

Yes. Currently, we distribute free of charge in the greater Athens area.

How often do you print?

Eight times per year.

How many copies do you print?

We print 5,000 copies.

Are you a local magazine?

We run the magazine locally and are proud to be based in Athens. We cover our own artistic community, as well as the best in regional and national music/arts & entertainment.

Where can I get a copy?

We distribute to a number of places in town. Many of them we guarantee you will be able to find a copy, and we select other strategic points to drop them off (see guaranteed distribution list for more details on where to find a copy). However, we do print a limited amount, so once they’re gone, sorry!

How do I submit my music for review/spotlight consideration?

We accept digital press kits to editorial@athensblur.com – also, feel free to drop us a press kit in the mail:

I’ve noticed your “Athens Live” and “Concert Shots” sections are all local photographs. Can anyone submit?

Yes! We’re always accepting party pictures and concert shots from anywhere! Please note there is no monetary compensation for pictures in this section – simply a byline and your photo in print! If you’re a band having a show and would like us to show up, give us one weeks notice and we’ll do our best.

Are you currently offering internships?

We are always accepting submissions to keep on file. Please submit a detailed cover letter, resume, and three writing samples to editorial@athensblur.com All positions are UNPAID.

How do I get started as a writer for Blur?

We’re always looking to expand on our writing team. Send a detailed cover letter, resume, and three writing samples to editorial@athensblur.com to indicate your interest. If we like what we read, we’ll get back to you. Payment is competitive but D.O.E.

I’m running an event and just want a simple calendar listing. What do I need to do?

That’s an easy one. Just send all the event details to editorial@athensblur.com at least 4 weeks before our listed print date. Include the name of your event, location, price, time and any age restrictions.

I just opened a business, and I’m looking to advertise. How much will that cost?

We offer affordable rates on the most high-quality advertising one can find locally. For specific rates, please contact Stephen Simmons, director of Sales & Marketing – Stephen@athensblur.com
