The White Stripes’ songs featured in ballet

8 February 2010 No Comment

The+White+StripesA new contemporary ballet choreographed by Wayne McGregor features music by the White Stripes.  Their music will be interpreted by an orchestra in the ballet, which is titled Chroma.

Chroma debuted in November 2006 at London’s Royal Opera House and it is now headed to Canada’s National Ballet.  The show features five Stripes songs, including “Blue Orchid” and “Hardest Button to Button”.

Jack White has been invited to the premiere in November, and it wouldn’t be too surprising if he showed up. For more information, check out Guardian’s review of the ballet in London, and the National Ballet of Canada.
