Brandon Flower’s mother Jean Flowers had endured a two-year battle with brain cancer before passing last Thursday.  

Brandon’s indie rock band The Killers canceled many tour dates in Australia and Asia recently citing “the severity of the illness of a close member” as the cause. The details of the situation had remained secret until an obituary in the Las Vegas Review Journal reported the devastating news.

Despite rumors of a break up and that the band was getting tired of one another, their camp maintains “any concerns about the future of the band are unfounded, “and “there are no plans for an indefinite hiatus.”

A memorial service for Mrs. Jean Flowers was held in Henderson, NV., a suburb of Las Vegas.
