In a tumultuous year for bands, spanning all genres, it’s refreshing to see a group rekindling an old flame. Metal giants Megadeth have announced that they’re reuniting with their original bassist, Dave Ellefson.

Ellefson, who performed with the group from 1983-2002, will join the band on their Rust In Peace 20th Anniversary Tour. The band plans to play that album in its entirety, along with many of their other favorites. If anything, it shows that even grizzled old metalheads can show some compassion, and let an old friend take part in one of music’s hardest-hitting institutions.
