Animal Collective to debut exhibition at Guggenheim Museum

19 February 2010 No Comment

animalcollectivewebThe always mind-bending Animal Collective is ready to make their art official with an upcoming exhibition at NYC’s Guggenheim Museum. The band + Danny Perez, their visual man, will debut a piece called Transverse Temporal Gyrus.  Quite a name.  The exhibition will include new Animal Collective projections, music, costumes and props – in essence transforming the museum into a psychedelic dreamworld.

Animal Collective wrote of the piece: “We wanted to create an environment where people could take some time to listen to other kinds of sounds and get away from those familiar sounds of the city. Keeping in mind the birds of the jungle, we’ve created an array of sounds with Animal Collective’s music that is seemingly random…or is it?”

…….and the air of mystery remains.  Sounds pretty awesome. Wish I lived in NYC.
