Abbey Road studios not for sale

A suffering EMI— who has been experiencing financial hardship since 2007— has retracted its plans to sell Abbey Road studios.

Earlier reports said the music company, whose clients include Robbie Williams, Coldplay and Lily Allen, had been negotiating with prospective buyers despite the shock among fans to sell the historic venue.

The famous venue has been graced by acts like Pink Floyd and Radiohead, and the crosswalk in front of the studio was the legendary cover for The Beatles album “Abbey Road.”

EMI is now claiming it plans on trying to keep the building through money from investors. Even though Abbey Road has been in the red “for a number of years,” it’s in the works to “revitalize” the studios with “a substantial injection of new capital.”
