Jakob Dylan enlists Neko Case on new solo album
Nineties rock band The Wallflowers’ front man Jakob Dylan is scheduled to release his solo sophomore album on April 6 and he’s employing the voice of breakout country star Neko Case.
The Grammy-award winner’s first solo project, Seeing Things was more self-examining and intimate then anything he’d done with The Wallflowers. It debuted the number 24 spot on Billboard 200. His upcoming album, titled Women and Country, will feature alternative country singer Kelly Hogan and Neko Case on eight of the 11 tracks. Case has had a very successful year, her solo album “Middle Cyclone” debuted at No. 3 on Billboard and is nominated for two Grammy’s. Hogan and Case were able to record their vocals during a two-day session in L.A.
“Neko’s a huge character,” Dylan told Billboard.com. “She and Kelly add a huge personality to the record.”
Dylan plans on touring with the two this summer, as well as the members of Case’s Canadain indie rock band The New Pornographers.
