Athens’ own Southern rock band Dead Confederate is offering a free download of their new LP, Dirty Ammo.  The free LP features seven live tracks recorded at The Earl in Atlanta in May 2009.  Four of the seven live tracks are previously released songs.  There is also one new song, “Guns” and two covers of Elliot Smith’s “Roman Candle” and Officer May’s “Smoking a Minor.”  The free download is available at www.dirtyammo.com.  And as true Athenians, Dead Confederate is giving fans the option to pay $1 for the LP; a dollar that will be donated to help rebuild the Georgia Theatre, which was destroyed in a fire in June.
