The Athens Blur Magazine to Suspend Publication with Coming Issue

It’s with a very heavy heart we must report that the February 26th issue of The Athens Blur Magazine will be the last. After gamely paddling upstream against dire economic circumstances, we’ve come to the conclusion that it is no longer fiscally responsible to continue publishing our print product.
There are still many decisions to be made in due time. There may come a time when we are able to restart publishing of the print product. Likewise, we may decide to continue as an online publication. It’s simply too much of …

J-Lo leaves Sony Records

After a decade with Sony’s Epic Records, Jennifer Lopez is leaving the major label.
In a statement released this week, she said : “At this point, I have fulfilled all my contractual obligations to Sony and we have come to an amiable decision.”
The pop diva has sold millions under the label since her debut “On The 6.”
Lopez’s manager, Benny Medina,  released a statement saying:” Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music Group, and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that …

Air, Beck, of Montreal & more contribute to Haiti Benefit compilation

Another round of artists is helping out Haiti with a new compilation disc, Hear to Help, available at American Eagle stores.  Vampire Weekend, Beck, Air, of Montreal, Grizzly Bear, and more appear on the album that features rarities, covers and remixes.

Vampire Weekend to appear on SNL

Vampire Weekend is everywhere.  You just can’t get away from the Brooklyn based quartet who are blowing up the charts with their latest, Contra. And they are headed back to the small screen on March 6th, when they will appear for a second time on SNL.
